  • Overview

Digital is changing the world, starting with the way we shop. Today it’s online shopping and click-and-collect, tomorrow it will be something not yet imagined. It’s a fast-moving world, where fresh ideas are welcome – along with the pace and flexibility to lead the way.

Kingfisher is building a state-of-the-art digital home in the heart of London – a place where digital creators and innovators like you will come together and shape the digital future for more than 23 million home improvement customers in 1,176 stores in the UK and across Europe.

It’s a chance to be part of something new. A chance to do big things in small, close-knit teams. A chance to feel the energy of a small agency – with the financial resources of a major retailer. And a chance to be rewarded for your talent, creativity and energy as well as your time.

As the Digital Engineering Manager within the Kingfisher Digital Hub, you will work with the Head of Engineering by acting as the Leader for all development and engineering activities in London, ensuring that standards are set, met and that good practices are implemented.  As a line manager for the Development teams you will be an excellent coach, mentor and also be adept at skills training.

As an experienced Engineering Manager, whilst understanding the latest technologies on the market and being able to be hands-on, you will lead teams based on Java and JavaScript based technologies (though not exclusively). You will need to understand the best practices of Continual Integration, with tools such as Jenkins, Nexus and SONAR.

We’re an organisation who follows an Agile framework, so the Digital Engineering Manager would work closely with each of our scrum teams assisting the planning and delivery stages. You will have practical experience of matrix-management, which you can call upon as an example for others to follow. This position will include working closely with Delivery Leads, coordinating Business Analysts, Architects and Developers, as well as liaising with key project stakeholders.
