    We are creating a new centralised function, our Offer & Supply Chain team will be using our global buying power to source all our products more cost-effectively and in the same way from a wide range of international suppliers. And we're distributing them more efficiently through a single, simplified, company-wide logistics network. With greater control over our supply chain, we can set prices consistently across all our brands using the insight and expertise of our people, with less influence from suppliers or local markets.


    Offer & Supply Chain will mean that for the first time ever we're selling the same unified ranges across all nine Operating Companies, while investing in our own unique and exclusive products.


    The Product Engineer is part of the Design team, on this role you will be working cross categories with a strong expertise in electronic appliances. 

    You will actively participate to Kingfisher's group strategy in developing these products (studying protocols, regulations, technical product specifications, suppliers and partners' choice, etc).


    As Product Engineer, you will design and develop new, innovative and marketable concepts and products. To do so, you will : 

    • Consider design elements that ensure high quality, are simple but effective and easy-to-use products.
    • Work with customer service, research, marketing, sales-force and end-users to identify new opportunities and introduce products to the market.
    • Work with production, both internal and external, to secure high quality standards for fall products delivered to customers world-wide and guarantee feasibility for manufacturing.
    • Design and develop working prototypes, product testing, quality assurance testing and standard compliance testing. Test prototypes to verify compliance with all internal requirements.
    • Ensure product documentation, specification sheets, bills of materials, detail drawings, assembly drawings and instructions for use and installation.
    • Use patents database both as a design guideline and for checking freedom to operate.
    • Consult with patent attorney on new product patents and trademarks.
    • Continuous watch of new technologies or innovative products.


    We are looking for passionate candidates with strong experience on a similar role, in engineering managing product development. 


    You are passionate for home improvement and you have an expertise in expertise in electronic appliances or iOT/connected items.


    You must be an excellent communicator both written and spoken. It will be necessary to be a confident English speaker. The language of the Kingfisher business is English.


    You are curious and passionate for new technologies, you have good engineering understanding, and have strong project management skills.


    You are able to develop and design technical solutions which reply to the commercial brief and in accordance to the quality performance standards.


    You are able to use every appropriate tools and services for technical development such as CAD modelling, prototyping, Final Element Analysis (FEA), external collaboration. 


    The successful person will be good at finding solutions for problems and thinking with innovation and enthusiasm.
